Badges, Projects, and Tylenol Oh My!!!

Welcome!

Whenever you hear the word "scouting" what is the first thought that comes to mind? Visions of singing camp songs while roasting up marshmallows? How about hikes, learning how to identify poison ivy, or conducting first aid; really who HASN'T been wrapped up mummy-style in gauze? For me it was always badges. Those delightful awards scouts receive after completing a set of tasks and parents LOVE to attach to a sash or vest. Girls love to earn them but the prospect of teaching said task list is something that may leave even the most staunch leader shaking in her hiking boots.

No worries! That's what we're here for.

I've set up this blog to be a resource you can turn to for ideas to help you along. I've been there too; still am as I am the Explorer leader to a squad of 11 wonderful young ladies, and I know that brain fuzz you feel after looking at hundreds of posts on Pinterest, and scouring pages of search engine results only to end up reaching for the Tylenol and STILL not having what you need.

Of course, you may still need it after leaving here but I hope and pray you will find something you can use. After all, no one has ALL the answers right?

So, here's what we'll do, each month I'll highlight a badge and post what I have found on the web or from my own experiences that matches up with the requirements listed in the AHG handbook. If you have something that worked for the same badge please feel free to share it.

As the ol' saying goes "Together we can do more."

With all that said let's roll up our sleeves and get to work shall we? Our next meeting is...............closer than we thought. Good luck and may God bless you!
